This post takes a look at some 'Minimal' film posters. Most of these posters are done by fans and illustrators/designers in homage to the films. I think the Indiana Jones posters are possibly the only posters that don't really classify as minimalist posters but I liked them so much not to include them.
The minimalist film poster must be very clever as It has to be recognisable as the film in question but can really only focus it;s design around one of the film elements or themes, characters, etc. Some are simple and use a dynamic shape or recognisable image as there premise (Iron Man, Rocky 2, Robocop, Million Dollar Baby, Ghostbusters, while others make a more specific reference to a scene, element or character within the film (The usual Suspects, Diehard, Psycho, The Breakfast Club. This is probably the more original way to design a minimalist film poster. It also shows you that the designer has a little insite and perhaps more of an imtimate knowledge of the film.
