RESEARCH: FILM POSTERS: THE 1960'S

Stepping into the 1960's Graphics started to play a slightly bigger part in the creation of the film poster with designers like Saul Bass leading the way. Photography and illustration was still playing the major role though and the concept of the poster collage was born. The collage style film poster was popular from the the 60's trough to the eighties where it was eventually phased out by the more photographic and computer generated designs. A good example of posters that we're becoming a bit more graphic are 'Exodus', 'Psycho' and the text used in 'The Time Machine' poster.
