SELF-PROMOTIONAL STRATEGIES

I have already made Initial steps towards self promotion, specifically a website, new business card designs and a physical portfolio as well as a personal blog. The website is not yet fully operational but I will provide the link below so you can see the progress thus far. At the moment is is just a mere shell but after final hand in I will have much more time to get to work on it. I have also organised a professional email account to accompany it, so any and all contacts can be given a business card with the dedicated 'Illustration' email address. I think this looks a lot more professional when potential clients check your card.

I regards to business cards. I currently have some but the design is a bit dated and I will be looking to reorder some fresh ones this week. I am deciding between a couple of my designs but some advice may help me to pick the right one. I am looking to order 400 green business cards from moo.com for £89. I am also considering ordering some Post cards, also from moo.com for a similar price. Prob just 50-100 though.

I have a A3 leather bound portfolio but I have also just ordered a newer, more professional looking A4 portfolio for canvassing and interviews. Finally I will be sending out a few pieces of my strongest work along with an accompanying email to some potential clients, businesses and organisations next week. I will use my new email to try and get the ball rolling.

Below is the link to my website, but it is in the early stages of development.

RESEARCH: BEST POSTERS 2012/13

These are a collection of posters that caught my eye from various movies from 2012/2013. I have tried to pick out mainly illustration or graphics based designs, rather than photoshopped designs and photography. Hard to pick Favourites from this bunch but the Batman and Expendables designs are very striking while the poster for 'The Raid' is very clever.
